Purpose and access

This private application is operated for its owner's personal research archiving. With the owner's explicit Google authorization, it uploads backup files to the owner's Google Drive. The requested scope is https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file: access is limited to files created by or explicitly shared with the application.

Data handled

The application handles the archive contents selected by its owner, file names, sizes, checksums, Drive file identifiers, transfer status and authorization tokens. File metadata and checksums are used to verify uploads and maintain restoration receipts. The application does not need access to unrelated Drive files, Gmail, contacts, or calendars.

Storage and protection

Archives are stored in the owner's Google Drive. Transfer receipts and operational status are stored on the owner's server. OAuth credentials are stored in a file restricted to the server administrator. Transfers to Google use encrypted HTTPS connections. Verified local archive copies may be removed to free server storage.

Sharing and use

Data is transferred to Google Drive to provide the requested archiving function. This application does not sell Google user data, share it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. The public information website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes ordinary web-request information to serve the site. No analytics or advertising scripts are added by this website.

Retention and control

Archives remain in Google Drive until the owner removes them. The owner can revoke the application's access in Google Account permissions and stop the server service. Revoking access stops future access but does not automatically delete uploaded archives or local receipts. The owner controls deletion of those records.

Google API data

DIPAP VDS Archive's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
